Hitting the Mark

My youngest son and I have recently started to take part in an eight week archery training course. I have shot some bows before, but never really was taught how to do so properly. So, this has been rather eye opening. Allow me to explain...

I am right handed, so I grabbed a right handed bow and began shooting. My stance and everything fundamentally seemed to be sound, but the arrows were not flying where I wanted them to go. I was all over the target and was getting rather frustrated. This is where it takes gaining some knowledge and wisdom from someone who has been there before to assist. Two of the instructors began working with me and taught me how to aim consistently. Then they had me shoot left handed! I said, "uh...but I am right handed." One of them said..."trust me". So I did. I shot five arrows in a row and all of them were bulls eye's!

I was blown away. Here was the main issue for me...even though I am right handed, I am left eye dominant. So aiming with my right eye was pretty much useless for me.

It is amazing how much having the right teaching/knowledge is helpful when trying to accomplish things in life. The same thing is true in business and with web sites/apps. I would encourage anyone in business to not try to work with their web site alone. Seek the help of someone who has "been there...done that".
